The Association of Museologists and Museographers of Andalusia announces the fourth edition of the EXPONE Awards for good practice and innovation in museums and exhibitions.

Objective, categories and selection criteria of the prize

Objective

To recognise the good practices of the professional community and the innovation of museological and museographic, conservation and cultural mediation projects carried out during the 2023/2024 season.

The projects must be:

  • Inclusive, in order to reinforce the commitment to social transformation.
  • Accessible, paying special attention to all people with disabilities so that they can develop in culture without barriers.
  • Sustainable, since through its multiple disciplines and channels of expression, the cultural sector has the capacity (and the responsibility) to help citizens understand the challenges facing humanity and to communicate the responsibility that all of us can assume to transform our world.

The Prize is non-financial, purely honorary and in recognition of professional work, and a maximum of two runners-up prizes may be awarded in recognition of the finalists’ work.

Categories

There are five categories for which candidates may apply:

  • Prize for the best Andalusian exhibition
  • Prize for the best Andalusian project of cultural mediation
  • Prize for the best Andalusian conservation project
  • Prize for the best national exhibition project
  • Prize for the best professional career

In a transversal manner, all Andalusian projects that apply for any of the categories may be selected by the organising committee to compete for the Special Public Prize. The winner will be selected by means of an online vote, in which the digital communities of followers of the projects and users of social networks will be able to participate.

Selection criteria

The preliminary selection of the projects will be carried out by a committee of AMMA experts in accordance with the following minimum assessment criteria:

  • Quality in the approach of the project, considering the contents of the project as the key element for the issuing of the value judgement.
  • Good practices and excellence in the management of resources and the execution of the projects.
  • Innovation that provides a new perspective on heritage, new ways of relating to and interpreting it.
  • Sustainability in economic and environmental management.
  • Degree of achievement of the objectives proposed in the mission of each of the projects, regardless of their scope, budget and visibility.
  • Timeliness of the project and appropriateness to the context.
